Multi-award winning Christian rock band Sweet Crystal continues the music, the message, the mission and the ministry that has kept the band going longer than any band in its genre in Michigan. This, our 5th release (thus the name), is our most powerful and poignant to date - which is saying a lot. Recorded and mixed by uber-producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian at Pearl Studios in Canton, MI and mastered by renowned mastering engineer Scott Hull of Masterdisk, "5 Carat Rock" starts bold out of the gate with "Even Now" complete with chanting monks (ask us what they are chanting), synth melodies and Bill's signature guitar sound. "Come As We Are" seems destined to become a praise-and-worship standard (a first for Sweet Crystal) featuring the vocals of longtime backup singers Amy Susan Heard and Gail Engling. "Jericho" is short and very sweet - a quick journey in more progressive music styling that compares the walls we build in our lives to those of that proverbial ill-fated city of the Old Testament. "Can't Turn Back" is a re-visualizing of the story of our everyday modern world and the people we all come in contact with. "When He Returns" is a 'Crystalized' version of a Bob Dylan classic southern gospel song, covered as only Sweet Crystal can. "Nothing Here (For You To Fear)" is a remixed, remastered re-release from the movie "War Flowers" sound tract, made even sweeter by the skills of Alkazian and Hull. "Home Sweet Home" - yup...the perennial power balled of the 70's Motley Crew returns with an even sweeter spin. Recognize the intro? Finally, something of very historic and personal value: "Sgt Penney 1945 (Live)" is an amazing interview from one of Sweet Crystal's biggest supporters, broadcast live from the Pacific front back to a Detroit radio station, highlighting and archiving one soldier's story. Amazing and humbling. This is "5 Carat Rock" - this is who we are and what we believe. Come, go with us...again. Marq, Bill and Steve 2016 ... more

Even Now 04:35
EVEN NOW Even now after all I’ve done and everything that I’ve said Here You stand reaching out to me to raise me from the dead... even now I don’t know what I’m thinking as I try to make sense of it all Living life in this broken world At the core of my problem I don’t seem to hear Your call Blind to the Light, deaf to the warnings, stumbling along towards a fall Even now after all I’ve done and everything that I’ve said Here You stand reaching out to me to raise me from the dead... even now My perfect imperfection, always causes me to fall short And I am flawed from the very start It’s my fear of the future, all the regrets that I have for my past In spite of myself is there no way of making my happiness last? Even now after all I’ve done and everything that I’ve said Here You stand reaching out to me to raise me from the dead... even now PeccataMundi...Peccata...[NB: peccata = {the} sins, mundi = of the world] Who Are You That Stands Above Me? Who Am I That You Should Love Me? If This Is True What You Are Saying Even Now We’re Still Worth Saving With our eyes finally opened, we stand amazed at what we now see Promise's spoken, bonds are all broken, We’re alive through Eternity Even now after all we’ve done and everything that we’ve said Here You stand reaching out to us to raise us from the dead... Even now

Come As We Are  The world has us thinking we’re standing alone on the edge of a cliff with no bridge to get home The clothes on our back, all tattered and torn and our souls, like our shoes, are so worn This side of Heaven can sure seem like hell when the doors are all barred, every window as well We feel we’re forgotten, that nobody cares our spirit weighed down with despairs Each Of Us Feels So Misguided and Lost All Our Debts Have Been Paid By The Blood On The Cross Come As We Are Bring Every Scar And Our Broken Hearts To Him  And In Its Place Receive All The Grace He Is Offering Us All  When We Come As We Are  Born with commandments, written in stone exhausted and weary clear down to the bone Every king every queen, we're just street urchins all on our own we all stumble and fall  In spite of the curse from original sin We’re redeemed by His blood, and are destined to win So Let Us Come As We Are Bring Every Scar And Our Broken Hearts To Him And In Its Place Receive All The Grace He Is Offering The sadness in our eyes, the madness of their lies That this is how we feel comes as no surprise So many dangers to discern, one simple truth we all should learn The ending to our story is one of Love and Glory Come As We Are Bring Every Scar And Our Broken Hearts To Him And In Its Place Receive All The Grace He Is Offering Us All When We Come As We Are
